Packet 3 Contains: SUBMIT VISA APPLICATION FORM DS-160 (K VISAS) OR DS-260 (ALL OTHER VISA TYPES): You and each qualified family member immigrating with you must complete the Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration (Form DS-160 or DS-260) in the Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC): https://ceac.state.gov/

Submitting the visa application does not formally execute a visa application. The visa application is not formally made until the visa applicant(s) is interviewed by a U.S. consular officer.

Note: You will need your NVC Case Number, Beneficiary ID Number, and Invoice ID Number from your NVC Welcome Letter, to access CEAC.

After submitting Form DS-260 online, you must print the confirmation page and bring it to your interview. You can print this from CEAC any time after you complete your DS-260 application.

EVIDENCE OF RELATIONSHIP: You must present evidence that you have a legitimate relationship with the person who has petitioned for you, such as letters, photographs, telephone bills and/or any other evidence that demonstrates your relationship.

MEDICAL EXAMINATION: The medical examination can be completed at one of the following two clinics in Kuwait and is required for each beneficiary, regardless of age:

Processing will take approximately one to two weeks. An authorized employee of the American Embassy will collect all medical reports. It is not necessary to call the Embassy to check on the arrival of your medical report. Your interview will be conducted even if the medical report has been not received.

The Medical exam is valid for 6 months from exam date. Please note that your Immigrant visa expiration date will match the validity of your medical exam. We recommend that you conduct the medical exam at least 1 week before your immigrant visa interview at the Embassy.

KUWAIT POLICE CLEARANCE: All immigrant visa applicants age 18 and over are required to present a police clearance certificate (original & photocopy) from the country of their current residence (Kuwait), if residence in this country exceeds six months. In order to obtain a Police Clearance from the Kuwaiti government, you will need to pick up a clearance request letter at the U.S. Embassy, Window #2, Sunday through Thursday, from 1 p.m. till 3 p.m. You will need a copy of your Case Notification from NVC or KCC (Diversity Visas) in order to pick up the letter. Please note that the Kuwaiti government will not issue police certificates without the Embassy letter.

OTHER COUNTRY POLICE CLEARANCES: All immigrant visa applicants age 16 and over are also required to present police clearance certificates from countries of their previous residence, if residence there exceeded one year. MARRIAGE DOCUMENTATION & MARRIAGE TERMINATION DOCUMENTATION: If you are married, you must obtain an original (or certified copy) of your marriage certificate. You must submit an original (or certified copy) and a photocopy of your marriage certificate to the U.S. Embassy at the time of your interview. (Exception: If you are the Petitioner for your parent (IR-5, Parent of a U.S. Citizen), you do not have to submit your marriage certificate.)

If you were previously married, you must obtain evidence of the termination of EACH prior marriage. Your evidence must be an original or certified copy of one of the following documents: FINAL divorce decree, Death certificate, or Annulment papers. You must submit the original (or certified copy) and a photocopy of your marriage termination documentation to the U.S. Embassy at the time of your interview.

TRANSLATION REQUIREMENT: Please note that all documents not originally in English MUST be translated into English. Please submit any original document with a photocopy. The Embassy will not accept a document unless it is accompanied by an official translation.

REQUIRED IMMIGRANT VISA FEES: Your case requires that you pay the immigrant visa fee on the day of your interview at the U.S. Embassy. Please note that the Embassy only accepts cash (exact change) or credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX). We do not accept KNET. The fees are as follows:

- Family Preference (KD 104.0, $325.00)

- Employment Preference (KD 110.4, $345.00)

- Diversity Visa (KD 105.6, $330.00)

- Returning Resident (KD 57.6, $180.00)

- K Visa Categories (KD 84.8, $265.00)

- Other IVs: SIV, I-360 ETC (KD 65.6, $205.00)

- Photo Copies: Please note you must provide photocopies of all original documents, if you fail to do so, you will be charged $1.00 or KD 0.300 cash per photo copy. Do not make copies of the forms provided to you by the Immigrant Visa Unit.

If not what's the waiting period? 10 to 14 days. This is the general time frame provided there are no issues with the visa application and one can always check CEAC for the latest update. For Immigrant Visa (such as K1, etc.) one will need to collect the passport from the Embassy. The rest will be dispatched via Aramex (make sure to retain the UID Number).

In order to assist the panel physican, and to avoid delays in the processing of an immigrant visa, all immigrant visa applicants should have their vaccination records available for the panel physician's review at the time of the immigrant medical examination. Visa applicants should consult with their regular health care provider to obtain a copy of their immunization record, if one is available. If you do not have a vaccination record, the panel physician will work with you to determine which vaccinations you may need to meet the requirement. Certain waivers of the vaccination requirement are available upon the recommendation of the panel physician.

Only a physician can determine which of the listed vaccinations are medically appropriate for you, given your age, medical history and current medical condition.

Parking: The Embassy opened a new 120-car parking lot for your convenience. During periods of high demand, however, you may be required to find on-street parking in the residential neighborhood surrounding the Embassy and walk to the main gate. Please plan accordingly.

Arrive early: Arrive thirty (30) minutes prior to your interview time. Proceed to window #2 at the Embassy�s main gate and present a copy of your appointment notice. You may have to wait for your personal interview so you are encouraged to bring reading material.

Identification: Bring a second form of identification (for example, Kuwaiti civil id) to leave with the guard before entering the Embassy in addition to your passport.

Prohibited items: You will pass through a security screening prior to entering the Embassy. Leave mobile phones, pagers, cameras and other electronic devices at home or in your vehicle. Visa applicants are not permitted to bring these items onto the Embassy compound.

Once inside the Embassy:

Take a number: Once you enter the Consular Section, take a number from the machine and have a seat in the waiting room. Once your number is called, proceed to the appropriate window to begin processing.

Complete all forms: Ensure that all required forms have been completed in their entirety before approaching the window. Have your photos and supporting documents in hand. Note: Incomplete or unsigned forms will not be accepted.

Interview: Be prepared to present all the required and recommended documentation at the time of your interview. At the end of your interview, the Consular Officer will inform you whether your application has been:

�Approved,
�Held pending additional information from you,
�Held pending administrative processing or
�Refused.

*Side note* Fiance was told at the interview that he was definitely approved, but had to wait for an internal check to be complete and they would issue the visa after that. Officer referred to it as "provisionally approved." Visa issued 2 days later.
